The United States Coast Guard (USCG) shared a photograph showing two young Cubans being intercepted aboard an improvised raft.
The impressive image draws attention due to the small size of the boat, because with work and it had enough space for the two West Indians to be seated during their trip.
According to information shared by the USCG, the young people were intercepted on their way to Florida last week, so their dreams of reaching the United States were interrupted after they were repatriated back to the Island on Tuesday, September 5.
“The crews of the US Coast Guard repatriated two people back to Cuba this Tuesday, after they were intercepted near the coast of Florida last week by members of the agency who were patrolling the area to save lives and prevent illegal landings. ”, reads the publication, which shows the impressive photograph.

The image shows that the boat, just under two meters long, was made of wood and used some blue canvas to keep the water out. In the same way, you can see large blocks of foam rubber that were used to help the boat stay afloat.
In the middle of the raft you can see a piece of fashion, which included a moored oar, possibly to which some kind of improvised sail was tied.
Without a doubt, the most impressive thing about the image were the crew members, because, although their faces were censored, an air of defeat can be perceived around them, since they knew that seeing a USCG ship was synonymous with being repatriated back to the Greater of the Antilles.
Last week, the USCG reported that it repatriated 123 migrants who tried to reach the United States illegally, who were returned to their countries of origin.
The authorities stressed that being caught trying to reach the US by sea could disqualify them from being able to opt for one of the legal and safe measures that the Joe Biden government offers to obtain a visa.
However, the economic crisis that Cuba has been experiencing for years forces many of its citizens to take risks at sea, even when their chances of reaching land are almost zero.
