Joe Biden become elected president United States of America (AS) after winning a fierce battle against Donald Trump in US Presidential Election 2020. US citizens took to the streets to celebrate Biden’s victory over Trump.
As reported from ABC News, Sunday (8/11/2020), US citizens in New York, Philadelphia, Washington, Atlanta, and Los Angeles, cheered, honked and took to the streets to celebrate Biden’s victory.
In Washington, revelers at Black Lives Matter Plaza opened champagne bottles and sang ‘Celebrate Good Times’.
Patrisse Cullors, co-founder and executive director Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation, said in a statement. “Black voters are appearing in large numbers to change this country and get rid of racists in the White House. What is very clear is that black voting is a factor in favor of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, especially in states that fight in the Rust Belt. that the same people who have been treated the worst by our democracy are doing their best to save it. “

“We congratulate Joe Biden on becoming president, and especially Kamala Harris, on becoming the first woman in the country – a black woman – to serve as vice president. This historic victory is testament to the work black women have done in the streets, at this campaign, and at every level of politics, “said Cullors.
Senator Chuck Schumer also celebrated on the streets of New York, declaring that the “long dark night in America” was over.

“So I said to Donald Trump: You lose. No more fighting. Go home. Go back to Florida,” said Schumer. “Stop making up lies about the election. It’s fair. No irregularities found.”
Schumer also encouraged Democrats to get involved in the second round election of the Georgia Senate this January.
“Tell anyone you know in Georgia, make sure you vote,” said Schumer.
