“However, we continued to move forward amidst the twists and turns. For two large countries such as China and the United States, being distracted from each other is not an option…” he noted.

Biden himself has previously said that his goal in the negotiations will be to improve relations with China amid tensions related, in particular, to the Taiwan issue.
