US Chamber, Republican deputy Greene expelled from committees for his conspiracy theories – Corriere.it

The House of Representatives, on the evening of Thursday 4 February, expelledRepublican Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greeneby the two commissions to which it was assigned: Budget; Education and Work. The decision was sanctioned with a vote, after about four hours of bitter confrontation in the Chamber. Here is the result: 230 in favor, 199 against. The 46-year-old Georgia lawmaker is sanctioned for spreading false and aberrant theories. For example: the Parkland High School massacre (17 dead) was a staged one. Or for his threatening statements. Like: you have to put a bullet in Nancy Pelosi’s skull. Or the tweet that yesterday the leader of the democratic majority, Steny Hoyer, showed, on a large panel, in the hemicycle. Marjorie Taylor Green is seen holding an automatic rifle. Dark teardrop glasses, jacket, grim air and the writing: The worst nightmare for the “Squad”, namely the three radical MPs Ilhan Omar, Rashida Tlaib and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

About halfway through the debate, Taylor Greene attempted the extreme defense. First she said she was repentant, that she believed in God, that she was a sinner. He has disavowed some of the serious nonsense his social media accounts are full of: The Royal Parkland Massacre, as well as 9/11. Poi, however, returned to nature, portraying herself as the victim of an unfair trial, or rather of a crucifixion in the public square. Whose fault is it? But the media of course. The big corporations that have extrapolated small phrases. Too bad there are still posts and videos that deny it. Republican leader Kevin McCarthy performed a reckless defense attempt, ensuring he convinced Marjorie to repudiate QAnon conspirator theories and everything in between. Indeed McCarthy accused the Democrats of wanting to abuse their powers. But in the end 11 Republicans also voted to expel Taylor Greene from the committees, one more than the group of conservatives who joined the Democrats on January 14 to give the green light to the impeachment of Donald Trump.
