According to the document, the Biden administration has distributed the number of visas for refugees as follows:
- Africa – 7 thousand;
- East Asia – 1 thousand;
- Europe and Central Asia – 1.5 thousand;
- Latin America and the states of the Caribbean Sea – 3 thousand;
- Middle East and South Asia – 1.5 thousand.
Another 1,000 visas will remain in reserve.
At the same time, the Biden administration argues that these quotas may still be changed. It is known that Biden promised 62.5 thousand quotas for refugees.
