The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has asked Johnson & Johnson to destroy millions of doses of the Covid-19 vaccine produced at its Baltimore plant.
Without disclosing or confirming the number of doses of the vaccine, the FDA said it had allowed two batches of the vaccine to be used, some of the batches could not be used, and others were being evaluated.
However, The New York Time said the number of vaccines to be destroyed was about 60 million doses.
J&J confirmed that the FDA allowed two batches, but did not admit any doses should be discarded. The FDA declined to comment beyond its statement.
