Washington DC –
United States of America (US) in its latest appeal asked every citizen to leave immediately Russia. Washington authorities call the continuing war in Ukraine and the risk of arbitrary arrest or harassment by Russian law enforcement agencies as a reason.
“US citizens living or traveling in Russia should leave immediately,” said the latest advisory released by the US Embassy in Moscow. ReutersTuesday (14/2/2023).
“Increased vigilance due to risk of wrongful detention,” added a statement by the US Embassy in Moscow advising US citizens.
The advisory also asked US citizens not to travel to Russia for the time being.
“Don’t travel to Russia,” emphasized the latest warning from the US Embassy in Moscow.
“Russian security services have arrested US citizens on trumped-up charges, singled out US citizens in Russia for detention and harassment, refused to provide them with fair and transparent treatment, and convicted them in secret trials or without providing credible evidence, ” explained the US Embassy in Moscow in its appeal.
“Russian authorities arbitrarily enforce local laws against US citizens who are religious workers and open questionable criminal investigations into US citizens engaged in religious activities,” the advisory added.
