US Approval: Handing Over Long-Range Missiles to Ukraine Amidst Russia’s Internal Problems and Uncertainty on the Battlefield

According to The Wall Street Journal, US and European officials said the United States is close to approval to hand over a long-range missile system to Ukraine as Russia faces internal problems in its military leadership and uncertainty on the battlefield. “Focus”.

The Army’s tactical missile system, known as ATACMS, has a range of about 300 km, which would allow Ukrainian forces to strike Russian targets behind the front lines. Although US President Joe Biden has yet to sign the transfer, some US officials have expressed concern that Ukraine could use the missiles to strike Russian territory and escalate the conflict into a wider war with the West.

Senior officials noted that the matter is awaiting approval at the highest level.

Despite internal turmoil in Russia, where the founder of the Wagner mercenary force staged a failed coup last week, US and European officials see the moment as opportune for action by the Ukrainian side.
