US Anti-Terror Laws Targeting Palestine: New Reports from Palestine Legal and CCR

New reports show that US anti-terror laws are designed to undermine Palestinian rights struggles. The reports were released by Palestine Legal and the Center for Constitutional Rights (CCR).

This is shaped by decades of efforts by Israeli groups to target pro-Palestinian sentiment inside and outside the country, the report explains. The report also says that an attempt is being made to label Palestinians as terrorists through such laws.

The 28-page report analyzes the various counterterrorism laws the United States has adopted over the years. According to the report, these anti-terrorist laws are based on anti-Muslim emphasis and hostility towards the Palestinian Liberation Movement.

The US is passing anti-terror laws to suppress the Palestinian freedom struggle. They have never kept this a secret,’ said Daryl Li, who prepared the report.

Such laws have also reportedly been used to block UN funding for Palestinian refugees.

Reports also indicate that some anti-Palestinian legislative bills have been passed.

Since the start of the war in Gaza, the Anti-Defamation League has sent a letter to 200 universities asking them to ban chapters of Students for Justice in Palestine on the grounds that they support terrorism. As part of that, Students for Justice in Palestine was banned from Florida University campuses.

It is very interesting that these reports are coming out in the middle of trying to bring laws, including on college campuses, to prevent pro-Palestinian activities in the country.
