The US has announced additional military aid to Ukraine of up to $100 million (€92 million).

This should “meet an urgent Ukrainian need for additional Javelin anti-tank systems,” said Pentagon spokesman John Kirby on Tuesday. The man-portable missiles have “proven themselves” in defense against the Russian invasion. According to Kirby, since the beginning of the Russian invasion, the United States has supported the Ukrainian military with “more than $1.7 billion”.
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said the additional aid would be provided “immediately”. He added that “the world is shocked and appalled by the atrocities committed by Russian forces in Bucha and across Ukraine.”
After the withdrawal of Russian troops from Bucha, the Ukrainian authorities discovered numerous bodies of suspected civilians there. The images from the suburb of the capital Kyiv caused horror around the world. Western leaders have condemned alleged Russian war crimes and announced new sanctions.
