The executive bosses of major airlines in United States of America (US) warns of ‘disaster disruption’ of travel and delivery operations if telecommunications companies use 5G technology without restrictions near US airports.
As reported AFP, Tuesday (18/1/2022), telecommunications companies Verizon and AT&T have twice postponed the launch of C-Band 5G services due to warnings from airlines and aircraft manufacturers that the new system is interfering with devices used to measure aircraft altitude. Scheduled, 5G technology will be launched on Wednesday (19/1) US time.
“We write with urgency to request that 5G be implemented everywhere in the country except in an area within approximately two miles (3.2 kilometers) of an airport runway as determined by the FAA (Federal Aviation Authority) on January 19, 2022,” the CEOs wrote. US airlines in his letter.

In the letter, executive bosses highlighted the risk of “economic catastrophe” if Verizon and AT&T continued to deploy new technology before necessary upgrades and changes were made to aviation equipment.
“Frankly, the country’s trade will come to a halt,” the letter said.
