The White House was reminded of numerous changes in analytics as conditions on the battlefield changed dynamically.
The US presidential administration commented on an article by Washington Post journalists who suggested that the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as part of a counteroffensive, “will not be able to liberate Melitopol and will not cut the Russian corridor to Crimea this year.”
Jake Sullivan, a national security adviser to the American leader, recalled at a briefing on Friday about the numerous changes in analytics as conditions at the front changed dynamically.
According to him, the US authorities do not intend to make predictions about the outcome of the counter-offensive of the Ukrainian army, since hostilities are unpredictable. Instead, the American side will continue to do everything possible to support the Ukrainian Armed Forces in their offensive operation.
Sullivan expressed confidence in the ability and courage of the Ukrainian military to continue advancing on the battlefield.
Earlier, Advisor to the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksiy Kopytko called the WP article on the Ukrainian counteroffensive “a new stuffing according to the traditions of the “take Kiev in three days” narrative, and also recalled the importance of providing the Ukrainian army with Western weapons.
Meanwhile, CNN has learned that some Biden administration officials consider UAF strikes in Crimea “wasteful” and advise “just focus on the counteroffensive.” In turn, Ukrainian sources called the attacks on the peninsula an integral part of the counteroffensive in the South.
