New York – The US actor Fred Ward, known from numerous films, is dead. He died on May 8th, his press secretary Ron Hofmann confirmed. Ward was 79 years old. He won a special acting award at the Golden Globes in 1994 as a cast member in Robert Altman’s “Short Cuts,” and previously received critical acclaim for writing Henry Miller in 1990’s “Henry & June.” He achieved another great success in the cult film “Tremors – In the Land of Rocket Worms”.
