The winning goal in the 86th minute was scored by Liverpool Montevideo striker Luciano Rodriguez.
For Uruguay, this is the first golden youth world championship. Previously, the team took silver twice and once bronze. Italy had only one bronze before.
In the match for 3rd place, the Israeli team defeated the South Korean team (3:1) and won the MFM medal for the first time.
The tournament was held in Argentina.
