They warned that the postponement of coordination surgeries and consultations with specialists until May “has a very important impact on people’s health.”
Health Minister Daniel Salinas met on Monday morning with the Uruguayan Medical Union (SMU) and scientific societies. The professionals went with a series of proposals that are destined to lower the cases of Covid-19.
Along these lines, the executive secretary of the Medical Union, the infectious disease specialist Zaida Arteta, explained that a series of measures should be put in place to take care of health teams, take care of citizens. Regarding the possibility of reducing mobility, Arteta pointed out that it would be a good measure and that the impact would be seen in the coming weeks.
“The income that we are seeing today in the CTI are not the cases of yesterday, they are the cases of 15 days ago. We have to hope that these numbers are maintained or even increase, therefore for the result of lowering mobility it will have an impact in a while ”.
In relation to what was resolved by the Ministry of Public Health (MSP) that decided to postpone coordination surgeries and consultations with specialists until May, in those mutuals and hospitals whose departments are included in the red risk level on the Harvard scale, Arteta he warned that “it has a very important impact on people’s health.”
