The establishment reported in a statement that the “Days Inn Montevideo hotel is the first hotel in Uruguay to not accept unvaccinated people among its guests and to require full vaccination to stay.”
“From the hotel management they are committed to providing health security for your guests and officials understanding that it is their responsibility as social actors to promote vaccination. Vaccinated people generate immunity and protect minor children and all those elderly who for some medical reason cannot be vaccinated, “he argued in the statement.” These are the reasons that lead the Days inn hotel to require a vaccination certificate from all those over 18 who want to stay, “he said.

The measure of requiring full vaccination It is not requested at the government level nor has it been taken as a union by the Association of Hotels and Restaurants of Uruguay (AHRU), as its president, Francisco Rodríguez, told El Observador.

The president of AHRU pointed out that Uruguayan hotels have been complying with the protocol that makes tourism responsible, but that nothing has been defined at the union level on the requirement of full vaccination. He pointed out that this may depend a lot on the characteristics of each establishment, in relation to whether it has open spaces.
