The Uruguay national team will face on September 27 his pair of Canada in a new friendly prior to Qatar World Cup 2022.
This was confirmed this Wednesday by the Uruguayan Football Association in a brief statement detailing that the match, framed in a new FIFA date, will be played in Vienna (Austria).
On September 23, La Celeste will play in the same city against Iran.
In this way, those led by Diego Alonso will face two of the teams that will also play the next World Cup.
In Qatar, Uruguay will be in Group H with Portugal, Ghana and South Korea.
For its part, Canada will be part of Group F with Belgium, Morocco and Croatia, while Iran will be part of Group B, which also includes England, the United States and Wales.
The two games in September will be the last that Uruguay will play as part of its preparation for the World Cup, which began with three friendlies in June.
In the United States and without Luis Suárez, La Celeste thrashed Mexico 0-3 with goals from Edinson Cavani twice and Matías Vecino. Days later, they equalized 0-0 against the locals in a game in which the Uruguayans dominated but did not hit the rival goal.
Finally, in the last of the three games, those led by Alonso thrashed Panama 5-0 with goals from Nicolás de la Cruz, Maximiliano Gómez, Diego Rossi and Cavani on two occasions.
