Montevideo, Jan 16 (EFE).- Uruguay registered 3,754 active cases of covid-19 during the second week of January, according to the weekly report presented this Monday by the Ministry of Public Health.
The document issued by the portfolio details that between January 8 and 14, 19,521 tests were carried out, of which 3,754 were positive.
According to this, the positivity was 19.4%, lower than the previous week when the studies returned 26.4%.
At this moment, 3,288 are the people who are studying the disease, 2,361 fewer than those who did so between January 1 and 7.
On the other hand, in the second week of the year, 9 people died from the coronavirus and the death toll since March 2020 – when the health emergency was declared in Uruguay – rose to 7,597.
Regarding vaccination, according to the figures that appear this Monday on the web monitor developed by the MSP, 2,897,126 people completed their immunization regimen with two doses from the Chinese pharmaceutical companies Sinovac, the Anglo-Swedish AstraZeneca or the American Pfizer.
In addition, 2,070,641 people have received three doses of the vaccine and 818,914 people have reached the fourth dose.
On the other hand, one week after the fifth dose of the anticovid vaccine was enabled for those over 80 years of age and immunosuppressed people who chose to be immunized in Montevideo, it was also enabled for the inhabitants of the remaining 18 departments (provinces) of the country. EFE
