Montevideo, January 9 (EFE).- Uruguay recorded 5,649 active cases of covid-19 during the first week of January, according to the weekly report presented this Monday by the Ministry of Public Health.
The document released by the portfolio specifies that between 1 and 7 January 21,389 tests were carried out, of which 5,649 were positive.
According to this, the positivity was 26.4%, lower than the previous week when the studies returned 31.5%.
Right now there are 5,165 people who are suffering from the disease, 2,636 fewer than those who did it between the 25th and 31st of the last month of 2022.
In the first week of the year, however, 12 people died from the coronavirus and the death toll since March 2020 – when the health emergency was declared in Uruguay – has risen to 7,586.
As for vaccination, according to data appearing this Monday on the web monitor developed by the MSP, 2,896,924 people completed their immunization regimen with two doses from Chinese pharmaceutical companies Sinovac, the Anglo-Swedish AstraZeneca or the American Pfizer.
Additionally, 2,069,915 people received three doses of the vaccine and 814,709 people reached the fourth dose.
