Uruguay delivered 48,000 doses of AstraZeneca coronavirus vaccines to Paraguay on Monday, in the second similar donation in four months, it was officially reported.
“This morning the Uruguayan government made a donation to the Republic of Paraguay of 48,000 doses of Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccines”, reported the Ministry of Public Health of Uruguay on Twitter.
The message detailed that the doses “They were delivered to the Ambassador of the Republic of Paraguay in Uruguay, Rogelio Bentez Vargas.”
Likewise, the Paraguayan Ministry of Public Health and Social Welfare reported in a statement that the vaccines were received at the Asuncin international airport.

On June 18, Paraguay published a thank you to the government of Uruguay for donating 12,000 doses of the same vaccine.
Uruguay has already vaccinated 71.41% of its population with two doses, according to the Ministry of Public Health reported this Monday.
Meanwhile, Paraguay had vaccinated on Sunday – with one or two doses, depending on the case – 2.26 million of its total population of seven million, according to official data cited by the Sputnik news agency.
