Uruguay added a new market for meat. Last Monday, the International Sanitary Certificate for the export of sheep meat and offal (raw and cooked) to El Salvador was approved, as part of the process of authorizing meat and refrigerated establishments to export to that country, as confirmed by the Ministry of Livestock, Agriculture and Fisheries (MGAP).
“Continuing to open markets is defending the work of Uruguayans,” the MGAP Undersecretary, Ignacio Buffa, stated on his Twitter account.
In 2021, this destination imported US$ 123 million in beef. This product was the most imported and its markets are usually Nicaragua, Honguras, the United States, Costa Rica and the Dominican Republic. The fastest growing import market in El Salvador is beef.
