In view of differing views in Mercosur, Uruguay and Brazil have spoken out in favor of making the South American economic alliance more flexible. “We will celebrate 30 years of Mercosur,” said Uruguayan President Luis Lacalle Pou after an informal lunch with Brazil’s President Jair Bolsonaro in Brasília in a live press conference on Wednesday. “It has to be checked and revised. The next step is to make it more flexible.”
