The winner of this year’s edition of the Nike Literary Award was Urszula Kozioł for her volume of poems “Raptularz”. We learned the verdict today – on Sunday, October 6, 2024. The Nike Readers’ Award, awarded in the Wyborcza.pl and “Wyborcza” plebiscite, went to Michał Witkowski for the book “Faith. Autobiography”. The gala summarizing the 28th edition of the Nike Award took place in Warsaw and was broadcast on TVP2, TVP Kultura and Wyborcza.pl.
This year’s seven finalist books included a novel, an essay, a reportage, an autobiography, a prose book and two volumes of poetry. The jury decided that this year’s Nike Award went to the poet Urszula Kozioł for her volume of poems entitled “Raptularz” published by the National Publishing Institute.
– “Raptularz”, awarded this year’s Nike Literary Award, complements and illuminates many threads present in the entire work of the author classified as the so-called The “Contemporary” Generation. The author who taught our modern times a great lesson in “getting out of yourself” in just a few final lines of the poem “Freaks”: “I’m coming out of myself / I’m standing next to // what will you do to me / I’m in doubt / in a moment it’ll become clear whether I’m here at all / / I’m impressed.” And we, the readers, are impressed, Mrs. Urszula – said Krzysztof Siwczyk, chairman of the jury, in the laudation in honor of the winner.
The Nike 2024 jury included: Krzysztof Siwczyk (chairman of the jury), Witold Bereś, Marek Beylin, Justyna Jaworska, Maria Anna Potocka, Radosław Romaniuk, Katarzyna Sawicka-Mierzyńska, Maria Topczewska and Maria Zmarz-Koczanowicz.
The winner received a statuette designed by Gustaw Zemła and a cash prize of PLN 100,000. zloty.

Traditionally, readers of Wyborcza.pl and “Wyborcza” also granted their distinction. They selected the winner from a group of seven finalist books by voting on the website Wyborcza.pl/nike. In the Nike Readers’ plebiscite, Michał Witkowski received the most votes for the book “Faith. Autobiography”. The editorial jury selected the best competition review, which will be published on Monday, October 7 this year. in “Gazeta Wyborcza” and on Wyborcza.pl. Its author will receive a voucher for a trip worth PLN 5,000. zloty.
The Nike 2024 award ceremony was organized at the University of Warsaw Library and was broadcast live on TVP2 and TVP Kultura, as well as on Wyborcza.pl and on the “Gazeta Wyborcza” Facebook profile.
