Drama on the Susten Pass in the canton of Uri: One person died and two were injured when a Belgian convertible fell around 35 meters on the Susten Pass early on Thursday evening. According to the police, property damage of 35,000 francs was incurred on the vehicle and transport facilities, as reported by the Uri cantonal police.

The car was on its way from the Susten Pass towards Wassen at around 6 p.m. when it came off the road below Meien for unexplained reasons and fell down the slope.

One person was thrown from the convertible with a Belgian license plate and died at the scene of the accident. Two vehicle occupants were flown to the hospital. Because of the salvage work, the Sustenpass road had to be closed for around three hours. (SDA)
