The level of the Ural River is approaching a critical point. This is reported in Telegram channel of the administration of the Russian Orenburg region.
The administration specified that there are 24 cm left to this mark.
“At 14:00 on April 9, the water level in the Ural River near Orenburg rose to 906 cm,” the statement said.
In addition, the river Sakmara rose by 3 cm from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., its level is 808 cm.
The head of the Ministry of Emergencies of Russia, Alexander Kurenkov, held a working meeting with members of the operational headquarters and visited one of the temporary accommodation points in Orenburg, which suffered from the flood. This was announced by the department’s press service.
On the evening of April 5 in Orsk, Orenburg region, a dam broke in two places at the same time. According to local residents, it has been flowing for several days. They urgently try to seal the dam, and people are evacuated from the city. Several thousand buildings and households have already been flooded.
On the afternoon of April 6, the water level in the Ural River in the administrative center of the Orenburg region began to approach the critical level of 930 cm.
