Books – Muhammad Sami:

Dr. Jad Al-Qadi, President of the National Institute for Astronomical and Geophysical Research, stated that, according to astronomical calculations carried out by the Sun Research Laboratory at the Institute, the crescent of the month of Ramadan will be born immediately after the conjunction occurs at exactly 7:24 pm local Cairo time on Tuesday, 29 Shaban 1444 AH corresponding to 21 3/2023 CE (Vision Day).

And the institute added, in a statement, that it notes that the new crescent will not have been born yet at sunset (the day of sighting) in the city of Cairo, as well as in most Arab and Islamic capitals and cities.

He also explained: “And the moon sets (in the old crescent phase) 9 minutes before sunset in Makkah Al-Mukarramah, and in Cairo 10 minutes, and in the governorates of the Arab Republic of Egypt, the moon sets before sunset on that day for periods ranging from (8-11 minutes), Thus, on Wednesday 3/22/2023 CE, it will be the completion of the month of Sha’ban 1444 AH.

Thus, the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan 1444 AH astronomically will be on Thursday 3/23/2023 AD, and the blessed Eid Al-Fitr will be on Friday, April 21, 2023 AD, and its prayer will be at 5:47 am in Cairo.
