On Thursday, Attorney General Hamada Al-Sawy ordered an investigation into the complaint of detainee Alaa Abdel-Fattah.

On November 1, the prosecutor received a complaint from the detainee’s agent, Alaa Abdel Fattah, including a request to put him in hospital to follow up on his health, hunger and hunger strike; In order to safeguard his safety and life, the Public Prosecutor’s Office has instructed the Community Protection Sector of the Ministry of the Interior to sign a medical examination for the detainee, in accordance with the rules governing the reform and rehabilitation centers.

When the prosecutor’s office moved to question him in his complaint, he decided that after being transferred to the developed Wadi El-Natrun (2) correction and rehabilitation center – which he is currently in charge of – he felt psychologically comfortable. . Sunbathing in the room where he is laid, and cleaning him, treating him decently, and letting him get in the books and exercise, but still partially hit his food with a system he called “the limited daily calorie system” , and his health stabilized, and he demanded that he be allowed to listen to music, radio and access daily magazines and newspapers, wearing a wristwatch and allowing him to visit his family outside the glass rooms designated for carrying out visits to detainees, all this contrary to the provisions of the rehabilitation centers regulation, and also asked for a retrial in the case in which he was sentenced, in which a final sentence was issued and he exhausted the means of appeal against he. .

The detainee added by agreeing to undergo a medical examination on him during the investigation, and to provide him with adequate care at the private medical center of the Reform Center, authorizing him to take certain vitamins and general tonics, and not to suffer from any organic substances, diseases or to take other medications.

The prosecutor inspected his cell and found that it was a large room in which three inmates share, with attached private toilets, and two beds for the inmate, one of which was filled with a large number of books. and magazines in several languages. .

The prosecutor also examined the detainee’s visit book, and it became clear that his relatives visited him regularly on regular and exceptional visits, the last of which had been three visits last October and one visit on 7 November. he suffers from any disease and should not take any therapeutic drugs except vitamins and dietary supplements found with him.

The Public Prosecutor ordered the formation of a specialized medical commission to underwrite a medical examination on him, which concluded in his report – after conducting the necessary analyzes and tests for the detainee – that he had decided to take in enough calories daily to keep himself fit. health, and that tests and tests have led to his vital signs – blood pressure, pulse, oxygen percentage, blood sugar level, and temperature – are all within their normal limits and the ECG is within his normal picture. This indicates that his hunger and the hunger strike are questionable.

The report concluded that her health condition is good and does not require her to be transferred to the medical center, with a recommendation for a periodic medical check-up.
