The President of the Republic, Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, charged the government with the speedy achievement of implementing the new system of universal health insurance, so that the schedule for its implementation would be compressed throughout the republic, within 10 years instead of 15 years.
This came according to the statements of Finance Minister Mohamed Maait in his capacity as Chairman of the General Authority for Comprehensive Health Insurance, in a statement published by the official page of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers on the social networking platform “Facebook”.
“Maait” referred to the permanent president’s affirmation of “priority for the health of Egyptians”, pointing out that the comprehensive health insurance system will be implemented during the current year in the rest of the governorates of the first phase, namely (Luxor, Aswan, Ismailia, Suez, and South Sinai).
The minister noted that the increasing demand by citizens for the new system confirms the success of implementing the system in Port Said governorate, stressing the Public Authority for Health Insurance’s readiness to launch the system in all governorates of the first phase as soon as the necessary preparations for it are completed and to ensure the elements of success are provided.
