Ousmane Sow Huchard, 78, is no longer. The anthropologist, museologist, musicologist, art critic and researcher was called to God last night around midnight in a clinic in Dakar.

On June 3, 2007, he was elected deputy to the National Assembly of Senegal, and on March 22, 2009, municipal councilor in the municipality of Ziguinchor. He was an active environmental activist within the Rally of Ecologists of Senegal “the GREEN”.
Aziz Samb and You
Soléya Mama, his artist name, was also part of the jury for “Oscar des Vacances”, a companion of over 20 years with Maestro Aziz Samb, another man of culture. He was also the administrator of Youssou Ndour Head Office.
Man of culture
This multidimensional man studied art history, anthropology, museology and musicology, culminating in a doctorate (PhD) at Laval University in Quebec (Canada) in 1985.
