Urgent Aid Enters Gaza Strip: Red Crescent Delivers Water, Food and Medicine

The Palestinian Red Crescent said that eight trucks carrying water, food and medicine entered the Gaza Strip from Egypt late Tuesday.

The Red Crescent added that this is the fourth batch of urgent aid to enter the Gaza Strip since the outbreak of the war with Israel.

The Red Crescent explained in a statement that the batch includes five trucks loaded with water, two trucks loaded with food, and a truck loaded with medicines, according to Reuters.

Aid trucks are subject to examination by the Israeli authorities at the Al-Auja-Nitzana crossing before entering Gaza.

Israel is intensifying its bombing of targets in the Gaza Strip ahead of an expected ground invasion against Hamas.

The war is causing the death toll in Gaza to rise rapidly, and the United States fears that the fighting could lead to a broader conflict in the region.

Gaza’s population of 2.3 million has been suffering from a shortage of food, water and medicine since Israel closed the Strip following the Hamas attack on Israeli towns on October 7.

The war, which has entered its eighteenth day, is the bloodiest of the five wars in Gaza for both sides.

The Ministry of Health reported that at least 5,087 Palestinians were killed and 15,270 others were injured.

In the West Bank, 96 Palestinians have been killed and 1,650 injured in Israeli violence and raids since October 7.

More than 1,400 people were killed in Israel, and the Israeli army believes that 222 people, including foreigners, were captured by Hamas during the incursion and transferred to Gaza, according to the Associated Press.
