It was last year that Urbanista launched its solar-powered headphones Los Angeles. Extremely generous, almost infinite battery life was of course the big selling point – but even though we praised the innovation in our recension so the headphones left something to be desired.
Maybe the true wireless format is better for the sunny concept? We will soon find out, as Urbanista has just announced its upcoming Phoenix plugs. Just like last time, Powerfoyle solar panels from Exeger are used for the actual charging, but now on the charging case instead of the headphones themselves. Should the sunlight de facto fail, the battery capacity should still be a generous 32 hours.
Big test: Best true wireless headphones right now
Otherwise, Phoenix offers, among other things, active noise reduction, microphones that minimize ambient noise and gives the user the option of fine-tuning the sound via an associated app. According to The Verge sales will not start until late autumn, and then at a price of 149 euros – closer to 1,550 kroner if we translate the price directly.
