Just in time for the changeover of the clocks to winter time, the state capital’s sports department is again starting the “Running under floodlights” offer on selected Düsseldorf district sports facilities. From Monday, November 1st, the lighting will be switched on at five sports facilities in the evening, so that all running enthusiasts can move safely there.
The days are getting shorter – and it is becoming more difficult to cover the usual running route in daylight after work. The “Running under floodlights” offer is an alternative for everyone who wants to cover their route well-lit. The following sports facilities can be used from November 1 to March 27, 2022 at the following times:
- Arena Sportpark: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
- Rather Waldstadion: Wednesdays and Fridays, 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
- Lierenfeld district sports facility: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
- Sportpark Niederheid: Mondays and Wednesdays, 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
- District sports facility in Düsseltal: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
“Running under floodlights” is a measure of the Düsseldorf Action Plan within the framework of the European Charter of Equal Opportunities with a focus on sport. The lighting on the selected sports facilities gives a feeling of security and creates optimal training conditions.
Distance and hygiene rules to protect against corona as well as the respective terms of use of the sports clubs that operate the facility continue to apply to the district sports facilities.
