Talented urban musicians from Spain and Chile they created the Official remix of “Esencia”, the hit of the Spanish singer Haze, motivated by vindicate the values of the Chilean Social Revolt started in October 2019. The author of the song was joined in this project “M.E.”, who makes his solo debut, the young and outstanding Yiordano Ignacio and the flamenco singer (cantaor) Barroso.
Despite geographical distances and the difficulties of making music during the pandemic, these days a song has been developed that combines the rhythm of reggaeton and mambo, along with direct lyrics from Hip-Hop and their neighborhood life experiences. From the combination of these elements came the official remix of “Essence”, the most listened to song by Hispanic Haze, which accumulates around 13 million views between Spotify and YouTube, in the original version with Barroso.
In this remix they included the young and outstanding Chilean Yiordano Ignacio and the singer “M.E.”, a native of Boston, United States, settled in Chile 12 years ago and, with this production, debuted in his solo career.
This international project was born from the connection of Nate Sprague (M.E.) with the Chilean music producer Felipe Yanzon, who has worked with great international artists, and who has recently been in charge of the post-production of several Haze songs. They decided to include Yiordano Ignacio, author of the single “Mambo for the prisoners”, which accumulates 30 million views on digital platforms.
“It has been a very positive experience, despite the complications of having carried out this project remotely, due to the differences in schedules and various things, but it has been a challenge and, at the same time, a pleasure. Haze is a ‘crack’, a great person that one can admire and who is also very cultured, studies a lot. Felipe has been in charge of the musical production and left the song playing at an international level, which is very important, as well as the possibility of working with Yiordano Ignacio, which has meant seeing a giant potential in him “, commented “ME”.
About the theme of the song, the singer noted that “Beyond the impact that this issue has had worldwide, we chose it as a result of everything that has happened in Chile since October 2019, with the social movement. From there arises our concern as artists about what is happening politically and socially, not only in this country, but throughout the world, considering that politicians have a ‘free pass’, nobody controls them and they can count on privileged information, damaging thus to the people who must work hard to get ahead “.
The remix of “Essence” is now available in Spotify and on the different digital platforms. Your video clip on YouTube is an audiovisual production that has the merit of rescuing various images of the Chilean Social Revolt.
