Urban development of Greater Libreville: A progress report presented to the Head of State

Libreville, Friday April 14, 2023 (Gabon Info) – The Prime Minister, Head of Government, Alain-Claude Bilie-By-Nze, and a delegation from the Libreville Integrated Drinking Water Supply and Sanitation Program went to take stock of the progress of this vast construction site at Ali Bongo Ondimba last Wednesday.

The President of the Republic chaired a meeting last Wednesday on the rehabilitation of urban roads and the water pipeline program for Greater Libreville. The Prime Minister, Head of Government, Alain Claude Bilie-By-Nze, who led a delegation from the Integrated Program for Drinking Water Supply and Sanitation in Libreville (PIAEPAL) on the occasion, visited Ali Bongo Ondimba the progress report on the progress of work on this vast project launched in 2021 by the government and supported by the African Development Bank.

At a cost of 77 billion F, this program should eventually contribute to the renewal of 149 km of the drinking water distribution network in Greater Libreville, the strengthening and extension of the drinking water distribution network over 131 km. The objective of PIAEPAL being to contribute to the increase of drinking water supply and sanitation infrastructure with a view to improving the living conditions of the populations throughout the national territory as desired by the President of the Republic.

At the end of the hearing, the Prime Minister, Head of Government, announced the directives of the Head of State relating in particular to the acceleration of the works. “The president drew attention and wanted all this to be managed and especially that the roads be closed identically so that there are fewer traffic problems. Commitments have been made in this direction,” said Alain Claude Bilie-By-Nze.
