Urban arts take up residence in the GHV

culture – Châlons – Exhibition

Posted yesterday

Several highlights of urban cultures, including hip-hop and slam concerts by Stef and Deinos MC, punctuated the atmosphere of the Galerie de l’hôtel de ville last weekend. And until Saturday evening, in one of the empty commercial cells, made available for free thanks to GHV, you can see the works of six local talents and Champagne. We find, for example, the “urbex” photographs by Ekos, the illustrations by Miss Keaz, the mixed compositions by Bakus, the posca creations by Deinos MC, etc. The focus of the exhibition is a seven-meter-long fresco created in situ with a spray can by Mig, Mader and Ekos, directly from the concrete blocks of the occupied space. It mixes the hyper-realistic portrait of a woman with a penetrating gaze and consolidated techniques of lettering and tagging. This is also one of the vocations of the Art O Blaze association: to unite painters and graffiti artists to bring out collective projects in Châlons and its agglomeration. “Some creations also give meaning and new life to the objects that follow us on our journey, explain Mig and Deinos MC. Old sneakers, used bombs for this or that project, etc. Here they are recycled, customized and integrated into new works, to better illustrate the artists’ experience and vision. “We have a nice shop window here, with a lot of traffic. We feel like curious people. This is often an opportunity to explain to them the graffiti codes, our approach, to make them understand that it is something other than abstract or scribbles. “A showcase and some surprises will still excite the place this Saturday, just to end the adventure in style.
