Uproar over Donald Trump’s son’s racist attack on Michelle Obama – 2024-02-16 05:36:13

What a surprise. No one would have expected it, but it happened. THE Donald Trump Jrwith 6.6 million followers on Instagram, attacked Michelle Obama as a joke.

Donald Trump’s son posted a Super Bowl photo of former Pittsburgh Steelers player LeVon Kirkland. Good so far. He accompanied the photo with the following comment: “I found this rare rookie card of Michelle Obama.”

And he went on to add a caption, just in case anyone didn’t realize that his intent was clearly racist and misogynistic. “A little Super Bowl nostalgia. They tell me this is a joke and treat it as such. Although personally I’m not 100% sure».

Not sure this is a joke? Or is he indirectly continuing to perpetuate the rumor that Michelle Obama is a trans woman, following the example of his conspiracy theorist father?

I’m not 100% sure either since the “hit below the waist” tactic is common in the Trump circle.
Reactions to Trump Jr.’s post were fierce. “Crazy levels of racist misogyny,” journalist Aaron Rupar wrote on social media.

“Disgustingly vulgar behavior”

The comments that followed confirmed that not only was his report no joke, but that the level of personal empathy remains high. And why not, since the voices calling for Michelle Obama as a candidate against Donald Trump are increasing.

“So low”, “Disgustingly vulgar behaviour”, “That says absolutely everything about the type of person you are. At least you’ve cleared that up,” “Michelle Obama is a better person than any Trump could ever dream of being“, “Imagine being forty, having everything in your life, being the son of the former president of the USA and posting racist, sexist and degrading crap like this. I would be ashamed of myself and my family and friends would be ashamed of me.”

These are some of the comments that users wrote, seeing the publication, as well as the verbal garnish, of Donald Trump Jr.

“I’m a die-hard Republican, but you’re hurting our party,” wrote another, while it’s clear that Trump Jr. has had political ambitions for some time.

The dislike of the Trump family (father and namesake son to be exact) is no secret. Attacks on Michelle Obama are a constant communication tacticwith her not hesitating to publicly express her opinion on the former US president.

Michelle Obama: “In the face of Trump’s lies, even rational people can be afraid”

In 2020, with her intervention at the Democratic convention, Michelle Obama blasted Trump, calling him “the wrong president for the country.”

“Whenever we look to this White House expecting it to take a leadership role, to soothe us, to give us a sense of stability, what we get instead is chaos, division, a complete and utter lack of emotional identification.

Donald Trump is the wrong president for our country. (…) He cannot cope. He cannot rise to the occasion. He just can’t be who we need him to be,” he said at the time.

In the same year, a month before the presidential election, Michelle Obama came out with open papers. “What the president is doing is clearly wrong, it’s morally wrong, and yes, it’s racist.

In the face of Trump’s lies and the crazy conspiracy theories he repeats over and over again, even sane people can get scared,” Michelle Obama said at the time.

«Racism, fear, division. These are powerful weapons and can destroy a nation if we don’t attack them head on,” he added.

Four years later, Michelle Obama’s words remain relevant, with Donald Trump Jr. “solemnly” confirming them.
