The New York Yankees and the Los Angeles Dodgers are currently facing each other in the traditional duel in the Major League Baseball (MLB) final. The fight is fought with all means possible – including the fans.
Two New York Yankees supporters caused a scandal in the fourth game of the final series. The two ripped the ball out of Dodgers pro Mookie Betts‘ glove after a successful catch!
Stewards throw brazen Yankees fans out of the stadium
In the first inning, the baseball flew toward the stands after a hit by Gleyber Torres, and Betts caught it after a jump.
One Yankees fan from the front row of the stands then held the professional’s glove with both hands and took out the ball, while a second spectator grabbed Betts’ other arm during the action. The catch was still valid.
The duo was thrown out of the stadium for the brazen ball stealing. Video footage showed stewards ushering the two out of the interior to applause from several other Yankees fans.
Many baseball fans were stunned on social networks. “Imagine paying a huge amount of money to see your team in the World Series and then getting ejected before the end of the first inning because you’re an idiot with no class,” one user wrote on X. ” These fans should be banned for life. There is no excuse for touching a player,” said another. You can see an X-video of the scenes here:
In the end, the Yankees won 11-4 and reduced the best-of-seven series to 1-3. Betts was upset after the action, but quickly put the matter aside.
