After Cristiano Ronaldo opened the score for his team Al Nassr on Sunday evening, he made an obscene gesture towards the opposing fans, who had shouted ‘Messi’ at him several times, according to images on social media.

In the match between Al Nassr and Al Shabab, the Portuguese international caused a commotion after scoring from the spot. The 39-year-old attacker first addressed the home fans with a hand behind his ears, followed by an obscene hand gesture. The Saudi Football Federation (SAFF) has now launched an investigation.

Al Nassr eventually won the top match 2-3. After CR7’s opening goal, Red Devil Yannick Carrasco scored the equalizer deep into injury time in the first half. Halfway through the first half, Carrasco had received a yellow card. Carlos Junior also scored for the home team, Anderson Talisca secured the victory for Ronaldo and co with two goals.

Al Nassr is second in the standings, four points behind leader Al Hilal, which has played one match less. Al Shabab is only eleventh.
