Uproar from the Director General of the Ministry of Trade cs Suspect, Tepis Producers Threaten to Boycott Bulk Migration

The Indonesian Vegetable Oil Industry Association (GIMNI) did not speak about the news about the threat of a boycott of bulk cooking oil (migor) after the Attorney General’s Office named the suspect. GIMNI emphasized that it had never made threats or plans to boycott cooking oil distribution activities.

“We have absolutely no intention or plan to boycott the government subsidized bulk cooking oil program. It is unfortunate that a number of media provide inaccurate information regarding GIMNI’s attitude,” said Sahat Sinaga, Executive Director of GIMNI, in a written statement Wednesday (20/4/2022) .

According to Sahat, there was some unrest from members of GIMNI, a cooking oil company, following the determination of 4 suspects by the Attorney General’s Office regarding the Case of Alleged Criminal Acts of Corruption in the Provision of Export Facilities for Crude Palm Oil (CPO) and its derivatives.

In fact, several cooking oil industry members of GIMNI called and expressed their fear of joining the subsidized Bulk Cooking Oil Program and said they wanted to quit.

“Producers are afraid to join the subsidized bulk migration program after this legal problem,” said Sahat.
