Upper Austria Tattoo: Rohrbach becomes an international brass band stage

Harald Haselmayr received his first musical training on the trumpet at the music school in Rohrbach. As leader of the military band of Upper Austria and later of the police band, Harald Haslmayer is a thoroughbred brass band musician. With the first international brass music festival in Rohrbach, he brings a three-day music festival of superlatives to Rohrbach-Berg. From September 8th to 10th, march music, concert music and culture are the focus. Why is the mayor of Niederwaldkirchen doing this?

A festival for guests and musicians

“The world isn’t the way we would like it to be at the moment anyway. Music is close to my heart and I want to give the visitors, but also the musicians, an unforgettable experience,” he says. It starts on the first day of the festival with a concert of the nations in the Centro, which is organized by the Lions Club. The Warsaw Police Orchestra, the Budapest Military Orchestra, the Rainer Music Salzburg and the Passau City Orchestra will be on stage.

On Saturday, the marching music show, the “Upper Austria Tattoo” will take place at the Rohrbach sports field: The bands on Friday will be supported by the Seniorenmusik Perg, Pipes and Drums Czestochowa from Poland and the Bersaglieri de Lecco from Italy, a mountain troops band that Performances mostly completed at a run. But the traditional music bands from Oberwang and Bad Leonfelden will also march, supplemented by the Rohrbach-Berg town band and the Arnreit Music Association.

Finally, on the festival Sunday, the Concert of Traditions takes place in the Centro, which is under the patronage of the Goldhauben and the Seniors’ Association. The Stadtmusik Vöcklabruck and Ladislav Kubes will play with the brass band Veselka from the Czech Republic.

Unique program

With this program you don’t need to hide yourself above all in terms of quality. “Something like this is unique in the region,” promises the organizer. Nevertheless, the ticket prices are estimated at between 20 and 25 euros quite cheap.

A grandstand for around 1,500 spectators will even be set up for the tattoo on Saturday. “It’s going to be a mega show. I can already promise that,” says Haselmayr and above all thanks the sponsors of the event: “Without financial support, we couldn’t hold such a major event in the region.”
