Depok –
The body of a Depok resident with the initials AA (31) was abandoned. The victim is suspected of being exposed COVID-19 until he died as a result of exposure from his family.
AA, who suffers down syndrome, suspected of having close contact with his family who tested positive for COVID-19. However, it is ironic that the victim did not receive health care services while she was sick.
Even more heartbreaking, the victim’s body was abandoned for several hours because no officers came to take care of the burial.
AA’s brother-in-law, Edwin, explained that he and his wife initially tested positive for COVID-19 on June 21. Both of them live self isolation (isoman) on June 22 to July 6, 2021.
“That night I coordinated with the local RT to let us know that we were confirmed positive. The next day we also coordinated with Pak Dadang’s COVID Task Force, then we were directed to the Pancoranmas sub-district head, then directed to the puskesmas,” explained Edwin when contacted detik.com, Saturday (10/7/2021).
Edwin then reported his condition to the puskesmas. He also explained that at his house he lives with his 8-year-old son, his mother, his younger brother, and his older sister along with their 2 children.
Edwin then asked the puskesmas to come to carry out swab test to his mother and sister who are suffering down syndrome. But unfortunately, Edwin did not get good service from the puskesmas.
“Well, our mother is old and because she has broken her leg, so she sits in a wheelchair. Our sister (AA) herself is in good condition. down syndrome. Finally, after we talked to the health center, we asking from the health center can you come or not to the house for swab. The answer is look at the schedule, find the right time first,” he said.
The body was buried in the Maghrib
During Edwin and his wife doing isoman, his sister-in-law also experienced symptoms of fever and coughing.
Almost every day Edwin contacts the parties Public health center to ask about the test swab for his sister and mother. Until finally the health center asked him to come. Edwin hoped that the puskesmas would come because it was impossible for his mother and sister to be brought to the puskesmas.
“While we are waiting for (an answer from the puskesmas) I will take my child to the subdistrict health center, because I was ordered to come there for treatment swab. Actually the position of my mother and sister should be swab, but because the conditions were not possible, that’s why we asked the puskesmas to come here. Because if we come alone, the cost is big,” he explained.
For the last three days, AA’s condition continued to decline until finally he died on Friday (9/7). The health center did not come to do swab against the deceased, there was not even an attempt to take care of the corpse.
