“Upgrading my Graphics Card: Recommendations for Optimal Performance”

Hey! Thinking of upgrading my graphics card. Sitting today with a GTX 1070 Ti and as the title reveals an i7 7700K.

My idea is to upgrade the graphics card first and then a little later (next year?) also upgrade the rest. I probably won’t buy the latest generation when the time comes, but will have to look used for something that is a couple of years old then.

I’m running 1080p today and will do so for a while. My goal in the slightly longer term is to go up to 1440p. I prefer high framerate over Ultra settings.

Which graphics card would you recommend that is not too overkill for my processor, but which can at the same time fulfill its purpose after a possible upgrade of the rest of the can?

The problem I encounter today is that when I want to play e.g. No man’s sky or Warzone 2.0, the GPU is at 100% (but the CPU seems to be able to give a little more still) but I don’t really get the flow I want. I get about 50-80 fps in warzone which is too little, in my opinion, for such a fast game when I’m used to 200 fps in Overwatch 2!

Thanks for the tips.
