The Ukrainian air force successfully shot down one out of four hypersonic missiles fired by Russia at a military airfield in the western region of Ivano-Frankivsk. While one missile was destroyed within the Kyiv region, three others hit near the airfield, resulting in the tragic death of an eight-year-old boy when a Russian missile crashed into a house in Ivano-Frankivsk.
In another attack, Russia targeted a location in Ukraine’s Zaporizhia region, claiming it was housing “foreign mercenaries.” Kyiv reported that a Russian missile struck a hotel in Zaporizhzhia city, resulting in one fatality and 16 injuries. The Reikartz Hotel, located in the city center on the bank of the Dnipro River, was hit. Additionally, during an attack on the capital, Russian rocket fragments hit a children’s hospital, fortunately causing no injuries.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy responded to concerns about corruption by dismissing the heads of all regional military recruitment centers. Commander-in-Chief of Ukraine’s Armed Forces, Valery Zaluzhny, will be responsible for implementing this decision.
