Dr. Khaled Mujahid, Advisor to the Minister of Health and Population for Media Affairs and the Ministry’s official spokesman, denied that the ministry is ready to transfer two suspected cases of the emerging virus “COFED-19” to Al-Nujaila Hospital for isolation for a period of 14 days, stressing that this is completely shame.

Mujahid stressed, once again, that no new or suspected cases of infection with the newly infected Corona virus were detected in all governorates of the Republic, explaining that once any infection is suspected, it will be announced immediately, in full transparency according to the international health regulations, and in coordination with the World Health Organization.

“Mujahid” said that the ministry continues to raise the levels of maximum preparedness in all ports and airports at the level of the republic and follow-up of the situation first-hand regarding the “Corona emerging” virus, stressing that all preventive measures are taken to prevent infiltration of the virus inside the country.

And the Ministry of Health and Population called on the visual, print and audio media, and the users of social networking sites are very careful in publishing news and referring to the official sources before trading any news that causes concern and dismay among the citizens.

And Dr. Hala Zayed, Minister of Health and Population – said in her comments on Saturday evening – that the Corona virus will most likely come to Egypt, and if it comes, 82% of infected people do not need a hospital or treatment, follow-up: “We will sit in the house a little and less.”

Zayed added, that only 15% of the injured will need to go to the hospital, confirming that the Ministry is fully prepared for any scenarios in this matter.

The Minister of Health and Population confirmed that the ministry deals in accordance with the standards of the World Health Organization and international regulations, regarding the French tourists, who were exposed by French media to have suffered a “corona” after returning from Egypt.

The minister added that the ministry sent to France in order to obtain the data of the tourist cohort belonging to the two tourists, and to share information about the places they visited, noting that the ministry was following the cohort to find out who had contact with them.

She stated that confirming their infection in Egypt requires two things, that the two people stay in Egypt for 14 consecutive days, and that the virus is diagnosed within the first 48 hours of return, pointing out that their chances of infection in Egypt are slim.

While the World Health Organization confirmed that the confirmed cases in France were on a tourist visit to Egypt, and the source and location of the injury is still under investigation, and the Ministry of Health and Population has informed the World Health Organization of the Arab Republic of Egypt as soon as it receives the notification.

The organization emphasized that the ministry activated the rapid response teams and took the required procedures for the epidemiological investigation and the follow-up procedures for contacts.

The organization indicated that it works closely with the Ministry of Health and Population in providing technical advice on investigation and response activities.

A source had said in comments this afternoon to “Al-Shorouk”, that the ministry is preparing to transfer the two suspected cases of infection with Corona virus to Al-Nujaila Hospital to isolate them for 14 days, and to conduct the necessary analyzes for them.
