UPDATE Victims of Mount Semeru Eruption: 14 People Died, 35 Seriously Injured, Thousands Affected by Hot Clouds

TRIBUNNEWS.COM – The following is an update on the number of victims due to the eruption of Mount Semeru in Lumajang, East Java, Sunday (5/12/2021).

Acting (Plt) Head of the Center for Disaster Data, Information and Communication of the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) Abdul Muhari conveyed the latest data related to the eruption of Mount Semeru per Sunday Afternoon.

The death toll increased by one person from the previously reported 13 people.

Here’s the latest update on the victim’s data the eruption of Mount Semeru:

– 14 people died

– 35 people seriously injured

– 21 people with minor injuries

– Residents affected by hot clouds of avalanches and volcanic ash as many as 5,205 people
