UPDATE Ora 14.00: The police have opened a criminal case for manslaughter in the case of the three children who died on Tuesday morning, after the bed they were in was engulfed by the flames of a fire in a house in Sector 5.

“In order to establish the causes and conditions in which the event occurred, the investigations were taken over by the Homicide Service, under the supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the District 5 Court, and are being continued under the aspect of committing the crime of manslaughter”, informs a press release from the General Directorate of the Bucharest Municipal Police (DGPMB) transmitted, on Tuesday, Agerpres.

According to judicial sources, the mother of the deceased children is currently being heard in the file.

The dead bodies are to be transported to the INML in order to carry out the necropsy.

The original news: Three children lost their lives in a house in Sector 5. According to information, the children’s mother is the one who called 112 to report that one of the rooms in the building caught fire. The call took place on Tuesday morning at around 05:35.

Children aged 1, 3 and 6 were in the room. The fire was put out in the meantime by the woman, but the children were declared dead.

The fire engulfed the bed from the accounts of the authorities, and the children, who were in the room, were resuscitated, unfortunately without success.

Four SMURD ambulances, three special fire engines and an extrication crew intervened at the fire.
