Nintendo has announced an update for Super Mario Maker 2 that adds a World Mode. In it, users can merge forty self-built levels into a path, creating a very self-built game.

The update will be released on Wednesday, says Nintendo. It does not cost any extra money for buyers of the game. World Mode can contain up to eight worlds with five levels each, making a total of forty self-built levels. In World Mode, users can plot a path from the beginning to an end castle.

The update also includes several new enemies and other options. It is the first time that Nintendo has allowed users to build entire games in the Mario Maker games; until now it was only possible to build levels. Super Mario Maker 2 came out for the Nintendo Switch last fall. An update was released earlier with Zelda content.
