According to information obtained fromAdnkronosPino Insegno will not host the next edition of the Rai 1 program The legacyas instead foreseen by the presentation of schedule for the 2023/2024 season. Adnkronos writes that Banijay Italia, the company that holds the rights to the format ofInheritance, would have asked to be able to choose the host when renewing the two-year agreement with Rai, which had expired. The program will be broadcast from next January 1st and filming should begin in December: according to the news agency’s reconstructions, the choice of host could now fall on Flavio Insinna, who hosted it from 2015 until the last season, or on Marco Liorni, the current host of Chain reactionwhich is always broadcast on Rai 1.

The schedule of the main Rai channels was renewed about two months ago, but its results in terms of ratings were immediately rather disappointing. One of the most problematic Rai programs is The merchant at the fairhosted by Insegno, who is a long-time friend of Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and should have also hosted The legacy. On the day of his debut The merchant at the fair it had 638 thousand spectators, with a share of 3.4 percent, and then failed to grow significantly. For this reason in recent weeks there had been talk of the possibility of eliminating the program or reviewing its management, hypotheses however denied by the CEO of Rai, Roberto Sergio. Insegno’s manager, Diego Righini, said he had not received any communication from Banijay Italia or Rai.
