Kozhikode: There are currently no new Nipah positive cases in the state, said Health Minister Veena George. At the same time, five more people have been admitted to the hospital, the minister said. They are related to the dead. The minister was speaking to the media after the Nipah review meeting.
The health worker who treated the last infected person has symptoms. It was found that there are 1192 people in their contact list. At present Nipa is under control in the state. There has been no second wave yet. This becomes clear when more samples are examined. It’s a good thing there hasn’t been a second wave at this point. Test results for some with symptoms will be known by Saturday night. The minister said that the results of 51 samples are yet to come.
Minister Muhammad Riaz also said that the bill of those undergoing treatment in a private hospital due to Nipah should not be paid and the Kuttyadi MLA family has been informed about this. The minister also informed that the police have also registered a case against a person who spread false news through WhatsApp regarding the spread of Nipah.
