Update: All cinemas in the Netherlands will close again

Tonight at 7 pm there will be a new press conference. A new strict lockdown will almost certainly be announced. As a result, cinemas have to close their doors again. And that hits hard.

The doors have to close for the umpteenth time because the OMT fears that the new omikron variant of the coronavirus will spread too quickly and that the influx of corona patients to the hospital will increase. And this at a time when the numbers actually show significant declines.

But when?
If the hard lockdown comes, the question is when that will be. Is that the same from tomorrow or only from Monday or a little later? In any case, RTL Nieuws reports that the measures will take effect from tomorrow morning. Anyway, things don’t look good for the cinemas and the movie buffs who like to see in front of the silver screen.

The closure would be a hard blow. The doors are currently open until only 5 pm with a limited capacity and now that too would disappear in a period when cinemas should be turning a significant turnover.
